History of the school
Lleó XIII School was founded in 1961 by the Mercadé and Todolí families who came from the Jesuit school of Barcelona San Ignacio de Loyola. In 1978 the founders parted ways. From that moment on, the Mercadé Family School (Lleó XIII) introduced mixed education at all levels.
In 1996 the Singular Project was created with the aim of making school life compatible with the practice of sport or dance and /or music studies, guaranteeing a quality education. A short time later, a very close link began that is maintained today with Futbol Club Barcelona and specifically with the Masia Oriol Tort to accompany its residents and athletes in all disciplines throughout their educational stage. Players such as Leo Messi, Andrés Iniesta, Cesc Fabregas, Sergi Roberto or other current players such as Ansu Fati have passed through our classrooms.
In November 2015 there was a change in the school ownership to promote a new image and a new educational project where students are offered access to official university studies through IGEMA (linked to the group) to do ADE with the official title of the Rovira i Virgili University. Currently, Lleó XIII offers all educational stages from P3 to 4th of ESO, Nursery and Baccalaureate, as well as training cycles.
